Educational Cooperation

Korean educational system has been recognized globally for its excellence. It ranks the top of OECD (The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) countries for scholastic achievement and educational competitiveness.

At present above 1000 Bangladeshi students are doing higher studies in Korean universities especially in the field of studying science and engineering. With a view to attracting more Bangladeshi students to Korean universities, the Embassy disseminates admission and scholarship information through its website and facebook page.

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul signed MOU with some reputed universities in South Korea. Following are some of the moments from MOU signing ceremony with different universities:

The Embassy also recommends Bangladeshi students for the following scholarships:

(i) Woojung Foundation Scholarship:

The scholarship is funded by the Woojung Education and Culture Foundation established by the Booyoung Group, a leading construction company in Korea, to assist foreign students who studies in Korea. It offers scholarships twice a year—February and August. The number of scholarships in each semester is determined by the Foundation based on vacancy. The Embassy calls for applications through its website and facebook page and recommended for scholarships. The Foundation then interviews these applicants and awards. Then scholarships through a formal ceremony.

Eligibility: Students currently studying in Korean Universities (Undergraduate, Masters, PhD course).

Core qualifications:

  1. A student who are looking for the financial support for the tuition fee and living cost.
    2. A student who has acquired over 80 points score (equivalent to grade B score) of academic records.
    3. A student with good manner.

(ii)International Diplomatic Scholarship (IDS):

The International Diplomatic Scholarship (IDS) is offered by Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) twice a year. The university awards 3 scholarships per nation in 1(one) academic semester.

Applicable fields: All undergraduate majors of colleges (except for College of Education, Division of Language & Diplomacy, Division of Language & Trade and Division of Biochemical Engineering)
